I don’t know if this affected anyone else, but I saw this and started getting emotional. It’s not the fact that it’s irony. It’s the fact that society as it is today measures it’s worth by success on social media (via instagram in this case) and the fact that it is becoming more impactful on the younger generations. I understand that perhaps this piece has a deeper meaning than what I am gleaning from it, but the fact that this picture depicts a child that is incredibly alone by what society now standardizes as acceptance breaks my heart. Maybe it’s just because I just can’t stand seeing an unloved child, who knows. It’s worth delving into. Hey, Meisner I found a chord.
